March 27, 2026: Gratitude, Growth, and New Horizons
Thank you to everyone who joined us last weekend for the 欧洲教育联盟家庭日 and the grand opening of our new boarding facility. Your presence made the celebration truly special. We also want to extend a huge thank you to all the families who joined us for the amazing Seussical musical this week it was a wonderful showcase of the incredible talents of our staff and students.
Looking Ahead: Week Without Walls This week, we are excited for our secondary students as they prepare for their Week Without Walls camp experience alongside their peers, teachers, and CNH leadership. We are particularly thrilled to introduce a brand-new destination to our camp offerings, expanding opportunities for immersive learning and growth. This is something we will continue to expand for next year.
This Saturday: 2026 Frontier Chinese Conference We are honored to host the UISG 2026 Frontier Chinese Conference. Under the theme “New Standards, Deepening Horizons,” education experts from across China will share insights on technical writing, AI, and language acquisition, alongside an Ivy League roundtable. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students and staff to engage with leading voices in education. With over 300 people attending, we are honored to continue this UISG tradition.
Thank you for being such an integral part of our community. Whether your child is heading to camp or you have joined us throughout the week, we value sharing these meaningful moments with you.

Little Florist in the Making!
Arranging Flowers, Cultivating
Concentration, Confidence, a Sense of Accomplishment
In the practical life area of a Montessori classroom, flower arranging is always a favorite among children. It is not only a hands-on activity filled with beauty but also a gift that nurtures a child’s inner growth. It helps children develop the awareness and ability to make their own choices, while skills such as concentration, independence, coordination, and logical thinking quietly take root and flourish.

Flower arranging may seem simple to adults, but for a young child, it is a journey filled with meaningful challenges. From being drawn to the flowers and thinking, “I want to give this a try,” to choosing a vase, filling the small pitcher with water, walking carefully while balancing it, pouring the water slowly into the vase, arranging the flowers, placing the finished work in a spot they love, and finally wiping up any spilled drops—the entire process is initiated by the child and carried out at their own pace, with the freedom to repeat it as many times as they wish.

Parents are also encouraged to set up a small flower-arranging corner at home, following the approach used at school. This offers children the chance to experience, in the family setting as well, the joy and empowerment that comes from feeling, “I want to—and I am able to—do something for my home.“
K2 Pizza with Papa

A father’s presence during early learning is foundational for healthy development- whether he is called Appa, Daddy, Papa, Otosan, or Tatay. Through unique engagement like challenging play and problem solving, fathers foster resilience and confidence in their young children.
Wrapping up our unit on five senses, the busy K2 fathers made time to join our “Pizza with Papa.” For a young learner, an hour side-by-side with Papa- feeling the dough, smelling the sauce, listening to his voice, tasting the pizza, and playing a game together- cements learning through multisensory connection. In that shared moment, they build memories steeped in love and cooperation. As the child psychologist Margaret McFarland noted, “A father is a man who expects his son to be as good a man as he meant to be.” Through such experiences, a father communicates that expectation by simply showing up, working together, and savoring the fruits of their combined labor.

Sister School Visit : A Morning at Seussical Jr.

Today we had the pleasure of welcoming three students and a teacher from our local sister school, Guangzhou Nanguo School, to watch the matinee performance of Seussical Jr. the Musical. They thought:
"I think the young performers in the musical all did their best to present themselves to the audience, which is really great."

Making Connections : The ToK Exhibition

在 ToK exhibition, Grade 11 students complete the first part of their journey through the areas of knowledge and their exploration of factors such as religion or politics that influence what we believe we know. At the same time, they engage with a fundamental question that every student eventually asks: Why do I need to learn this? What does it have to do with my life? Through the exhibition, students demonstrate how the theories and questions explored in ToK connect to their own lives, and they reflect on the factors that shape what they know, think, and believe.

Leadership in Action:
Student Council & House Captains
Take on the Ultimate
Team Challenge!

Last Wednesday, our Student Council and House Captains took part in an intensive Leadership Teambuilding Day, beginning with trust and communication exercises at the ULC before heading to Baiyun Mountain for a navigational challenge that put their teamwork and problem-solving skills to the test. A huge thank you to CNH and our advisers for organizing such a valuable experience — we’re proud of these leaders and excited for what lies ahead!

Grade 8 Students Showcase
Their Community Project Exhibition

Community Project
This Thursday, the Class of 2030 proudly presented their Community Project Exhibition, celebrating a year of meaningful learning, growth, and action.
The Community Project is a cornerstone of the MYP journey at UISG — a year-long project where students identify a community that they care about, and plan ways to make a positive impact. At UISG, the Community Project not only benefits the communities our students support, but also serves as preparation for the Personal Project in Grade 10. Throughout the process, students experience the four key phases of the project cycle — Investigation, Planning, Action, and Reflection — developing essential skills in critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and empathy.

关于 Thursday, March 26th, our Grade 8 students shared their projects with peers, teachers, and parents, showcasing their passion, perseverance, and commitment to being caring global citizens. From projects addressing body image and mental health to initiatives focused on environmental sustainability, the arts, music, and sports, the exhibition was a true celebration of service, creativity, and community spirit.

Community Project
