This week, two key topics have taken center stage in the boarding house: the importance of sleep and WiFi use. The research is clear \u2014 sleep is critical for students’ learning, well-being, and overall mental health. Studies show that adequate sleep not only improves academic performance but also plays a vital role in emotional regulation and reduces the risk of anxiety, depression, and stress. At UISZ, we are committed to supporting our students in making healthy choices and establishing routines that will benefit them academically and personally. To encourage better sleep habits, starting at the end of the month, we will be disabling student WiFi access between midnight and 5 a.m. If you\u2019re interested in learning more about the science and research behind this decision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Weekend Update <\/strong>\u5468\u672b\u66f4\u65b0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This past weekend, our boarders enjoyed a trip to the shopping mall for an essential snack refill and a delicious meal. On Sunday, Ms. Lindsey, our school and college counselor, joined the students and me for a lovely walk to a local zip line. After an afternoon of fun and adventure, we finished the hot walk with some well-deserved ice cream!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Highlights of the Week <\/strong>\u672c\u5468\u4eae\u70b9<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Storytelling has always been central to human culture, and I was reminded of its importance this week when I had the privilege of reading a bedtime book to one of our primary flexi-boarders\u2014a beautiful moment that brought back fond memories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u8bb2\u6545\u4e8b\u4e00\u76f4\u662f\u4eba\u7c7b\u6587\u5316\u7684\u6838\u5fc3\uff0c\u672c\u5468\u6211\u6709\u5e78\u4e3a\u6211\u4eec\u7684\u4e00\u4f4d\u5c0f\u5b66\u5bc4\u5bbf\u751f\u8bb2\u7761\u524d\u6545\u4e8b\uff0c\u8fd9\u8ba9\u6211\u518d\u6b21\u610f\u8bc6\u5230\u8bb2\u6545\u4e8b\u7684\u91cd\u8981\u6027\uff0c\u5b83\u5524\u8d77\u4e86\u6211\u6e29\u99a8\u7684\u56de\u5fc6\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another personal highlight was a spontaneous chef masterclass with some of our students. Together, we learned the art of making the perfect omelet\u2014an essential life skill that I\u2019m sure will come in handy! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
