In the heart of Guangdong’s Xiangwo village, our Grade 3 students embarked on a transformative Week Without Walls adventure that beautifully embodied the theme of “Sharing the Planet.” Over two unforgettable days, UISZ and UISG learners discovered how to appreciate and sustain our natural world through immersive, hands-on cultural experiences.

在广东省云浮象窝，我们的三年级学生开启了一场 蜕变式的”无墙周”探险，完美诠释了”共享地球”的主题。两天难忘的旅程中，UISZ与UISG的孩子们通过沉浸式文化体验，探索如何欣赏自然、守护自然。

Day One: A Dialogue Between Tradition and Land
第一天：传统与土地的对话

The journey began with crafting traditional herbal sachets. Using fragrant herbs and spices, children hand-stitched these aromatic pouches, connecting with the warmth of ancient Chinese wellness wisdom. This reverence for tradition led us to local tea plantations, where we experienced the complete journey of a single leaf—from hand-picking tender buds to withering, roasting, and brewing our own tea. Students gained firsthand insight into the sustainable, symbiotic relationship between people and land.

旅程从制作传统中药香囊开始。孩子们用芬芳的草药与香料，亲手缝制香囊，感受中华古老养生智慧的温度。这份对传统的敬意，引领我们走进当地茶园，完整体验一叶一茶的旅程——从亲手采摘鲜嫩茶芽，到晾晒、炒制、冲泡品茗，孩子们亲身领悟人与土地之间那份可持续的共生关系。

Evening: Bonds Beneath the Stars
夜晚：星空下的情谊

As night fell and starlight spilled across the sky, we gathered around a crackling bonfire beside an indigenous forest. Teachers and students from both schools circled together, sharing stories, laughter, jokes, and games—nurturing friendships that bridged our sister campuses.

夜幕降临，星光洒落，我们在原始森林旁点燃篝火。两校师生围坐一圈，分享故事、玩笑与游戏，欢声笑语中，姐妹学校的情谊悄然生根。

Day Two: Revelations in the Forest
第二天：森林深处的启示

The adventure peaked on day two as we hiked through this pristine woodland, encountering breathtaking biodiversity—rare birds, curious mushrooms, fascinating insects. Our young explorers witnessed nature’s wonders firsthand, developing a profound understanding of why environmental preservation matters deeply.

旅程的高潮在次日到来。我们徒步穿越这片原始森林，邂逅令人惊叹的生物多样性——珍稀鸟类、奇形蘑菇、奇妙昆虫……孩子们见证了大自然的神奇，深刻理解了环境保护为何至关重要。

More than breathtaking landscapes and authentic local cuisine, this experience forged genuine connections between UISZ and UISG students and teachers. Thanks to our remarkable facilitators from China New Horizons, what began as a two-day trip became a lifetime of learning. Our children returned home carrying not merely new knowledge and friendships, but a heartfelt commitment to sharing and protecting our beautiful planet, sustainably.
