Next week, we look forward to welcoming our secondary parents for Parent-Teacher-Student Conferences, a valuable opportunity to discuss student progress and strengthen our partnership in education.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our talented IB Visual Arts students will showcase their hard work and creativity at the Diploma Programme Visual Art Exhibition throughout next week. Please join us to celebrate their incredible achievements and be inspired by their artistic visions.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The excitement continues with the STEM House Competitions, where students will put their problem-solving and teamwork skills to the test in a series of engaging challenges. Let\u2019s cheer on our houses as they compete for STEM glory!  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, as we celebrate International Women\u2019s Day tomorrow, I want to extend a heartfelt message to all the incredible women in our community\u2014students, staff, and parents. Last week you should have received a message on Managebac inviting you to sign up for the parent-teacher-student conferences (PTSCs). You should also have received notification of your child\u2019s Semester 2 Progress Report, with its focus on Learning Behaviours. If you did not receive the messages from Managebac please contact the Secondary Office – secondaryoffice@uisgz.org <\/p>\n\n\n\n

PTSCs<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

These conferences take place twice a year and are one of the key elements of the home \/ school connection that helps to create high quality learning. The PTSCs take place on Wednesday March 12th. They provide an opportunity for parents, teachers and students to meet together, to discuss individual student progress and to set learning goals. Students are expected to attend as they are integral to sharing the learning experiences and thinking about their goals. Students do not need to wear school uniform. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The benefits of PTSCs: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • help students actively reflect on their learning\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • encourage students to develop self-evaluation skills\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • provide the opportunity for students, parents, and teachers to engage in open and honest dialogue\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • empower students to take responsibility for their learning\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • provide a focus on Approaches to Learning skills\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    During this day, there will also be a Managebac information session for parents, led by the MYP Coordinator. This is to help parents find the useful information about their child. This session will be given at two different times: 11:30 \u2013 12:00; 14:30 \u2013 15:00. It will take place in room A103 which is on the ground floor of the Secondary building. Please do come along to either of these sessions so that you can get the most out of Managebac. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Semester 2 Progress Reports<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    A student\u2019s Learning Behaviour is a strong indicator for success, both at school and in life beyond. The Learning Behaviours correspond strongly with the IB Approaches to Learning, and also connect with the important goal of developing lifelong learners. Please take a look at the tables below which set out what the Learning Behaviours are, and also what the different levels mean when they are reported on. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    There will be an opportunity to discuss this with teachers at the Parent-Teacher-Student conferences on Wednesday March 12th. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
