I hope you all had lovely, restful holidays and have enjoyed the first week back at school. The students have jumped straight back into learning and it\u2019s been wonderful to see all their smiling faces around the school. Her departure will be a significant loss to our community. We wish her all the best in her future endeavors.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Holly\u2019s departure will come with a few Chinese teacher changes&nbsp;for some students across the year levels. I will send updates on ManageBac on Monday 17th February to inform parents of their child\u2019s Chinese teacher for the rest of the year. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Conferences February 19th<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>K \u2013 K3 will have Parent Teacher conferences next Wednesday. These conferences are WITHOUT students but we understand that you may need childcare, therefore children can be at reception or outside the classroom at the time of the conference. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Year 1 \u2013 5 will have Parent Student Teacher conferences. These conferences are WITH students and they must be present in the conference to help set goals for the rest of the academic year. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A reminder that for all students, this is not a normal school day and students should be supervised by their parents when on campus. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Bus Change Procedure<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just a reminder to parents if you would like to make a change to your child\u2019s bus schedule:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please&nbsp;use&nbsp;SchoolsBuddy&nbsp;for&nbsp;bus&nbsp;change&nbsp;and also inform the homeroom teacher via ManageBac or Email that the&nbsp;student&nbsp;is going to be picked up or not on the&nbsp;bus.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you request a&nbsp;bus&nbsp;change, initially it is pending. Once&nbsp;approved you should get notification. The \u2018data triangle\u2019 encompasses student achievement, student aptitude and student attitude.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Year 12 students will be receiving their Predicted Grades at the end of next week, and this is an excellent example of how that data triangle works \u2013 by looking at student aptitude and attitude, and taking into consideration mock exams and DP assessments, teachers provide thoughtfully considered predictions of what grades students will achieve in each of their Diploma subjects. These Predicted Grades also give universities information they need to be able to make offers to our students. There will be more information shared by our College Counselor on the large number of excellent offers that our students have already been given by universities around the world.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Year 10s have just completed their MYP mock eAssessments, and this also provides some really valuable data for teachers and students. As this is the first time students have taken this particular assessment style in a formal setting, it gives them a good sense of what to expect from the actual eAssessments which take place in May. It also provides useful data for students making their DP choices.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Connected to that point, here is a reminder to Year 10 parents to register for the important meeting to discuss your child&#8217;s Diploma Programme (DP) subject choices with the school\u2019s DP Coordinator and College Counsellor. We will discuss how appropriate these choices are based on their previous MYP academic performance. Additionally, we will explore how these subjects may impact university applications.
