The DP encourages breadth and depth of study by requiring students to study six academic subject areas and to complete an Extended Essay of 4,000 words in one of those areas. Students also study Theory of Knowledge (TOK). Through TOK, students are pushed to think about how they \u201cknow what they know<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW223227233 BCX0\">\u201d.<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW223227233 BCX0\"> TOK also helps students to make connections between their different subject areas.
